A Safe, Confidential Environment

Genesis House provides emergency shelter for women and their children experiencing abuse. Our location is kept confidential to ensure the safety and privacy of everyone staying with us.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a space built on compassion, understanding, and care.

During Your Stay

While staying at Genesis House, you’ll have access to a range of supports designed to help you feel safe, supported, and empowered:

Private bedroom and communal living spaces

24/7 staff support and crisis response

Access to meals, basic necessities, and essential supplies

Ongoing and Non-Residential Support

PetSafe Program

We recognize that pets are part of the family. For many people experiencing violence, worry for a pet’s safety can prevent them from seeking help. Our PetSafe program ensures that you don’t have to choose between your safety and your pet’s well-being.

How It Works

We provide flexible options to meet the needs of different families and situations:

Foster Care through the Pembina Valley Humane Society: Pets can be placed in loving foster homes with trained caregivers while you access shelter and support.

On-site Pet Shelter: For clients who wish to remain connected to their pets, our fully equipped pet shed in the backyard allows pets to stay on-site, with secure accommodations and opportunities for daily visits.

Both options are designed to prioritize the safety and comfort of your pets while giving you peace of mind.

We are committed to whole-family care, ensuring that everyone in your family – including your pets – is protected and supported during times of crisis.
